📜 Istoria noastră

Bella Napoli traces its roots back to the Esposito family of Naples, Italy. Grandmother Rosa Esposito brought her handwritten recipe book when she immigrated to Portland in 1968. For decades, the recipes were shared only at family gatherings until her grandson, Marco Esposito, opened the trattoria in 2010. The wood-fired pizza oven was imported brick by brick from a closing pizzeria in Naples, and the pasta is made fresh daily using Rosa's original techniques. Bella Napoli has become a Hawthorne neighborhood institution, winning Portland Monthly's "Best Pizza" award three years running. Rosa, now 94, still visits the kitchen every Sunday.
